I was asked to capture S + V’s relaxed and fun wedding a couple of months ago. The last time I shot a in London was for my friend Zoe, many years ago in Richmond. I love using the city as a backdrop as London has such a varied landscape. From trees to bleak concrete, modern to the old, crumbling to the new.

Before I moved back to Norwich I lived in London for six years and loved it! It was such an exciting place to live in, there was so much happening, things to see, do and experience. I used to cycle everywhere in London and regularly passing Islington Town Hall and cycling through Clarkenwell on my way to work, so photographing S + V’s wedding was a return to my old stomping ground.

The Artisan of Clarkenwell is a very cool bar tucked away on a cobbled cul-de-sac. It’s furnished with a great mix of found objects, plush furnishings and great wallpaper. For this wedding guests weren’t asked to formally sit at a table to eat, instead everyone mingled throughout the evening nibbling on delicious finger foods (I was a big fan!). The speeches were fantastic and at one point I turned around and saw that there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

Now all I want is to be asked back to shoot another London wedding…. hint, hint!
