A brand shoot isn’t really about the photos. The A brand shoot isn’t really about the photos.
The photos are the end result, of course but the most important part usually happens before I even open my camera bag.

👉🏼 We spend time thinking about your business.
👉🏼 What you do day to day.
👉🏼 What you want people to understand about you when they land on your website or social media

From there we start shaping the photoshoot around that story. We think about the location, the details you need to prepare and the kinds of moments we should aim to capture.

It means the images aren’t random but they reflect your business, your personality and the way you work.
When that part is clear, the photos tend to feel much more natural too 👏🏼

If you’ve been thinking about brand photography for your business, I’m always happy to talk things through and help you figure out what might work best 📸

I am very late in posting a little July round up. I am very late in posting a little July round up. July was one of those months that reminds me why I love what I do.

A few highlights include photographing:

🚶 The Norfolk Heritage Open Days launch, with another fascinating walking tour led by History Holly Days and facilited by the team at The Forum Norwich. @norfolkhods .

🦋 Science on Your Doorstep: Bugs and Beasts, capturing families enjoying everything from pond dipping and crafts to face painting in one of Norwich’s parks, also facilited by fab team at @theforumnorwich .

📸 The first official @stripecommunitynorwich event at Fuel Studios Norwich, bringing local freelancers together. Thanks for having me @kbagodnts

🎲 The launch of See It, Be It by Rebecca Atkinson, a brilliant board game celebrating the diverse careers of deaf adults as part of @toylikeme illustrated by @kateeread28

💍 Two beautifully intimate weddings - one a North Norfolk elopement (which I can’t share just yet!) and another at Norwich Castle. With just two witnesses at each ceremony, it was a real privilege to play such a small part in two incredibly special days.

Every month is different, and that’s one of the things I enjoy most. One day I’m photographing a business community event, the next I’m documenting a public engagement project, and then quietly capturing one of the biggest moments in a couple’s lives.
A small selection of projects I’ve had the pleasur A small selection of projects I’ve had the pleasure of working on throughout June. From AI conferences to awards ceremonies, family portraits, artists and purpose-led organisations, it’s been another wonderfully varied month.

Some highlights included photographing @brandland_norwich inaugural Gather Awards at the @theforumnorwich , celebrating some incredibly talented people. It was especially rewarding to see Norfolk Museums Pass: Access All Eras by the Norfolk Museum Service win the Brand Growth Award after having the pleasure of photographing the campaign.

I also travelled from Norfolk to Brighton to photograph @createwithhq ’s annual AI conference, documented a wonderful family I’ve had the privilege of photographing over the past four years, captured the energy and joy of @magic_acorns in Great Yarmouth, photographed all the fun at Tropic annual staff away day, and worked with talented artist @claire_coles_artist to showcase her beautiful mixed-media wallpaper collection in a rose garden.

No two months are ever the same, and that’s one of the things I love most about what I do. Every assignment brings new people, new stories and new opportunities to create images that help preserve memories or communicate what makes a person, organisation or event unique.

Thank you to everyone who invited me along to tell a small part of your story this month.

It’s such a lovely boost, especially when I’m up against such a talented group of people. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing awards ceremonies over the years, so to now find myself on the other side and shortlist for something it feels really special.
