Summer holidays, here we come! School is out for the summer and there is so much fun to be had!

It's the moment all the kids have been waiting for. Pack away the book bags, fold up the uniform and let the fun begin!

After the year we've had, the school holidays have become even more important. It's time to escape for day trips, a break away or even adventures in the garden at home. It's a special time for the family to come together without the stresses of school life and homework. Mixing small pleasures such as chalk drawing on the pavement outside your house, den building in the woods or relaxing by the pool if you're lucky enough to get away can make for real family fun time without great expense.

These are the sort of things I love to photograph, families together, enjoying each other's company. Playing, larking about and relaxing. Special times. Times you will want to bottle and bring out to remember on the grey winter days when you've run out of milk. I relish the natural, real life family action shots and make special family moments into photos brimming with love and memories.

I much prefer the family photograph where everyone is together and enjoying the experience of sharing an activity together. How you socialise as a family will evolve over time as your children’s tastes and abilities develop. Personally, I find the early years of childhood whizz past and so recording what you like to do as a family during the summer holidays provides a really precious memory.

Want to have family photos but find it's all a bit too much?

There are activities you do with your children that can just be stressful and sometimes taking photographs can be one of them, and that’s coming from a mum who is also a photographer! Bringing in a family photographer means you'll get those longed for photographs, your kids have more fun and don’t have to sit still and you the parents can relax!

I hope you have a brilliant summer.
